![]() Porcupine Reservoir
The reservoir is about a thirty minute drive going south on 165 from Hyrum Utah. The paved road ends about a mile below the dam. Porcupine has two dirt boat ramps both best used with a four wheel drive.
The ramps have good rocky base when the water is high. As summer ends the water level drops to the point were loading a boat can be risky due to the muddy shoreline. The reservoir is surrounded by private land but can be fished west by the dam and various places all the way to the river inlet east. It has a public road that runs the north side of the reservoir all the way to the inlet. The Fish species in Porcupine are Brown trout,
Cutthroat trout
Rainbow trout
Rainbow Cutthroat Hybrids
and Kokanee salmon
Fishing can be slow but porcupine offers a chance to catch a large brown trout.
